Matric (Dars-e-Nizami) Introduction

The Matric (Dars-e-Nizami) program at AIOU offers students a deeply rooted Islamic educational pathway, delivered via distance learning. This curriculum follows the traditional Dars-i Nizami format, providing comprehensive religious studies through a semester-based system. Students receive all required study materials and guidance from university-appointed tutors at their designated study centres.

Spanning two years, the program is divided into four semesters. Throughout this period, learners complete both assignments and final examinations to fulfill course requirements and progress toward certification.

The curriculum comprises a blend of core religious and language courses. In the early semesters, students study Quran-e-Hakeem (Translation), Hadith, Fiqh, and Usul-ul-Fiqh. As they advance, the curriculum expands to include Arabic, Urdu, Compulsory English, Islamiat, and supplementary subjects like Health and Nutrition.

Admissions for this program are open during both the Spring and Autumn semesters each year, giving students in Pakistan the flexibility to begin their studies at convenient intervals.

The program takes two academic years, just like regular matriculation. Students complete their 9th and 10th classes under this system.

Students study all compulsory matric subjects such as Urdu, English, Mathematics, and Pakistan Studies. In addition, they are also taught Islamic sciences including Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, and Arabic to strengthen their religious knowledge.

Any student who has passed middle school (8th class) or an equivalent level of education can take admission in this program. Many students who want both religious and academic education choose this option.
