Region History – AIOU Regional Centre Sheikhupura

The Regional Centre Sheikhupura of Allama Iqbal Open University was formally established on 21 March 2019 after being bifurcated from the Lahore Region.

Initially, the centre began operations in a rented building to quickly provide academic support to students. In June 2022, construction started on a new state-of-the-art campus after AIOU acquired 5 Kanal and 15 Marla land for this purpose. The upcoming campus is designed to provide modern facilities for learners and staff, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability.
