Region History – AIOU Regional Campus Sargodha

The Regional Campus Sargodha of Allama Iqbal Open University was established in 1990 to provide academic and administrative support to students in the central Punjab region. At its inception, this regional office covered:

• District Sargodha: Multiple tehsils included
• District Khushab: All tehsils

Altogether, the region comprised 11 tehsils, making it one of the key academic centers of AIOU.

Approved Study Center

To enhance student access and support services, one officially approved study center was established:

• ITM College, Satellite Town, Sargodha

This study center plays a vital role in organizing student activities, workshops, and academic facilitation for both districts.

Student Facilities and Services

The Regional Campus Sargodha provides a comprehensive set of facilities to ensure smooth academic progress for enrolled students:

• Help Desk for student queries, guidance, and issue resolution
• Computer Lab equipped with modern systems for online learning
• Library offering reference material and research resources

In addition, students benefit from academic and administrative services such as:

• Face-to-face workshops
• Password reset assistance for online portals
• Technical guidance for uploading assignments
• Assignment schedules and academic updates

Enrollment Statistics

The Regional Campus has witnessed a steady rise in student enrollment over the years. In the Spring 2022 semester, a total of 11,034 students were enrolled in various academic programs offered by AIOU through the Sargodha region.

This reflects the importance of the campus in meeting the educational needs of thousands of learners in central Punjab.
