AIOU Regional Campus Jhelum – Establishment & Transition

The AIOU Regional Campus Jhelum was established in 2019 when the Executive Council of Allama Iqbal Open University decided to relocate the regional office from Mandi Bahauddin to Jhelum. This administrative shift was based on geographical accessibility, student convenience, and the boundaries defined by the Government of Pakistan. The decision strengthened AIOU’s academic presence in Northern Punjab and expanded services for a wider student population.

Model Study Center – Mandi Bahauddin

Although the regional office was shifted to Jhelum, the educational needs of Mandi Bahauddin students were not overlooked. In 2019, AIOU established a Model Study Center (MSC) at Mandi Bahauddin, operated under the supervision of RC Jhelum. The MSC provides essential student support services, including:

• Helpdesk – Academic guidance and student counseling
• Computer Laboratory – Internet-enabled systems for online learning
• Student Support Services – Resources for smooth academic progress

Enrollment and Academic Network

Since its establishment, the AIOU Jhelum Campus has shown remarkable growth. During the Spring 2022 semester, the campus recorded an enrollment of 8,500 students. To ensure quality education and academic support:

• 2,766 tutors are affiliated with RC Jhelum
• 11 examination centres established for smooth assessment processes

Role and Academic Support

The Regional Campus Jhelum manages academic and administrative responsibilities for Jhelum district while also extending services to Mandi Bahauddin through its Model Study Center. The campus is dedicated to expanding digital services, professional programs, and distance learning opportunities for students in the region.
