Region History – AIOU Regional Campus Vehari

The Regional Campus Vehari of Allama Iqbal Open University was established in 2013. Since its inception, the campus has played a vital role in extending quality distance education to the people of southern Punjab, particularly in the Vehari division.

Geographical Coverage

The Vehari Regional Campus caters to students across three tehsils:

• Vehari
• Burewala
• Mailsi

By covering these areas, the campus ensures that students from both urban and rural communities have access to higher education opportunities at their doorstep.

Academic Role and Services

• Tutorial support for students in a wide range of programs
• Workshops for teacher training courses to enhance educators’ skills
• Final examinations conducted in a transparent and structured manner

Facilities for Students

• Computer Lab to support digital learning and online activities
• Help Desk / Student Facilitation Center for admissions, assignments, and workshop guidance

Enrollment and Academic Support

• 5,863 students enrolled in the Spring 2022 semester
• 325 tutors associated with the campus
• 6 examination centers across all three tehsils
