Region History – AIOU Regional Campus Attock

The Regional Campus Attock of Allama Iqbal Open University was officially established on 21 January 2013. Since its inception, the campus has been working to make distance education more accessible to the people of the Attock district.

A state-of-the-art building for the campus is currently under construction, which will further enhance academic and administrative facilities in the near future.

Geographical Overview of Attock District

Attock is a historically and geographically significant district, located in the Pothohar Plateau of Punjab Province. The district consists of six tehsils:

• Attock
• Fateh Jang
• Hazro
• Hassan Abdal
• Jand
• Pindi Gheb

This diverse coverage allows AIOU to reach thousands of students from both urban and rural communities of the region.

• 267 tutors guiding learners across multiple disciplines
• 13 examination centers established under RC Attock

The Attock Regional Campus has emerged as a reliable center of learning in the region. By blending traditional academic support with digital transformation, it continues to ensure that students from remote areas can pursue higher education without relocating to larger cities.
